My Story

I'm participating in Decembeard after Lisa convinced me of what a great cause it would be, but I just reckon she digs a man with a beard!
I think more awareness needs to be raised around bowel cancer especially in people younger than 40. Our family knows first hand how devastating this horrible disease can be after the tragic loss of my beautiful sister at the age of 31 who was also the mother of 3 gorgeous girls. If I can help raise some awareness around this disease by simply growing a beard then i'm in.
So if you have a spare few bucks, or if you would like to grow a few ginger whiskers yourself, please chip in or sign up. To read about my story follow the link. http://bit.ly/2zPOFJJ

Beards aren’t just for hipsters, those with tatts, men that ride motorbikes or people that are too lazy to shave. All you need to do is grow a beard (or some bum fluff) for the month of December, and promote your facial hair to raise awareness and funds for New Zealand’s second biggest cancer killer – bowel cancer!

Bowel Cancer kills more than 1,200 New Zealander’s every year and a change in bowel movements is one of the most common symptoms. The good news is that bowel cancer is curable in more than 75 percent of cases if caught early. We need your help to continue our lifesaving work, so please help by showing your support this Decembeard.
